This morning I baked a lemon cake! two layer - 8x8 square pyrex. For some people this would be no big deal, but for me, this is a first - I've never baked anything before. I rarely cook at all.

I baked the cake accd to the instructions on the box, then took some of my Food TV learnin' and made a lemon glaze for it by taking a box of lemon jello, mixing it with 1 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar, then dissolving it all and simmering on low heat until it was about 2/3 reduced - a nice thin syrup. After the cakes cooled I poked holes in them and poured the glaze over both, then stacked them up and poured the rest over the top.

Since the glaze wasn't thick enough to not soak in, I topped it all off with whipped lemon frosting.

It's great! I've had 2 pcs already!
