iGoogle : To get rid of the hated left menu tab bar, add this filter to adblock : google.com#TD(class=leftborder) - this will get rid of the left tab bar. :) Of course, you have to be running FireFox with the Adblock add-on, but everyone has that already, right?
This is the solution I'll use until google fixes their mistake.
