Computer Associates buys PestPatrol. This is bad news for me, as CA also sells such fine products as BrightStor and ArcServeIT backup softwares, which I'm sure you have heard me ranting about.

This means that I will very likely have to find a replacement anti-spyware application for both work and home. PestPatrol as we know it is likely not long for this world. CA has a habit of buying companies and integrating their software, messing it up along the way.

Witness the integration of Alexandria, a decent UNIX backup package, into BrightStor. Disaster.

Ah well. Perhaps Ad-Aware or Spyware Search & Destroy will be my next favorite anti-spyware software vendor.
