WoW

Got my hunter to Lvl 40. :) Need Spider's Silk, apparently everyone needs it and nobody can find it, so it's heinously expensive at the auction house. Looks like I get to go back to the low-level zones and beat up spiders for a few days. *sigh*

Also, heavy leather is apparently rare as well. Dammit WoW people - make these things a bit easier to find!

Tailoring is difficult without these items - esp at middle levels - I just hit 150 in tailoring, pretty much have to have Spider's Silk to use the regular silk found on everyone, and Heavy Leather to make silk bags to store things in. Ah well.

Repo! the Genetic Opera

Repo! the Genetic Opera - Theatrical Trailer

I heard one of the songs from this, loved it so much I bought the DVD and soundtrack. It's truly amazing.

There are some big names in this movie - it went to limited release in a few small theaters, much like the Rocky Horror Picture Show did many years back.

We watched it last night and LOVED IT. Watch the trailer - then search youtube for more clips, it is addictive and entertaining.

My favorite song is 'Zydrate Anatomy'. :)

Second favorite - 'Chase the Morning' by Blind Mag, played by Sarah Brightman.

WoW

Got my Hunter to Lvl 33. Still enjoying it, trying to find a way to make money in the game - need to buy some better gear! :) I'm fishing a lot in the game - who would have thought that I would ever enjoy fishing? You can sell the fish at auction or cook the fish and then sell them for a bit more, plus it helps you increase your fishing and cooking skills. :)

Suits

Saturday, we went to Men's Wearhouse to have my suit tailored to fit or possibly buy a new one. The old suit was deemed 'impossible' to resize. I went from a 46 to a 50 suit. Oh well. The buttons on the old one won't come with 6" of closing in front now. heh.

So I ended up with nearly two full sets of clothes!

See, they were having a buy one get one free sale (everything except shoes, which were buy one get one for 1/2 price). I did well.

I got two suit coats and pants to match, one dark blue and one charcoal with pinstripes. Two shirts, one white and one grey. Two nice ties. Two overcoats, one wool and one nylon. A very nice pair of Bostonian shoes that are very comfortable when new, I can only imagine how nice they will be when broken in. All for just over $1k.

I may give my old suit to my brother, I think it could be resized down to fit him, as he can take the suit to his local MW store and they will resize things for him for a small charge.

WoW

World of Warcraft is a pretty decent game. We now have two accounts, one for me and one for Sara.

I got a Night Elf Priest on her account up to level 10, and her character is at 5 or 6, she's enjoying the process.

I also got a Night Elf Druid up to lvl 7 and a Blood Elf Hunter up to level 17. All in the past week.

So it is fair to say that we enjoy the game, and will likely be on it more. ;)

I love the fact that every race has a completely different starting area and huge list of quests. Very nice! There are slight variations in the quests for different classes, even, but the majority of them are the same for a particular race.

One minor nitpick - it teaches you to do the very minimum you have to do to get by and fulfil the quests. For instance if you are sent to an area to defeat 10 creatures, and while you are there you defeat 20 of them and find their boss and defeat him as well, you should be rewarded, right?

Wrong.

You return to the quest-giver who congratulates you on the 10 you beat, then says that now you need to go defeat the boss. No credit for having just done that, as it was not in your previous quest's requirements. So you get to go back and fight the guy again.

Ah well. Good experience. :)

Games n' stuff

Playing :

Mass Effect / Mass Effect 2 - I played ME for 47 hrs and ME2 for 54, and now I'm replaying ME so I'll get a different ending - that I can then import into ME2 and replay it to see the differences.

City of Heroes : I'm playing it on and off, as the mood strikes me.

D&D Online : I cancelled my subscription, but since it was paid up for the year in Nov, I remain a paid VIP until then. But I haven't played in months, so I doubt I'll go back again unless it's to give away all my gear.

World of Warcraft : Sara likes it, and I may get into it as a result. We'll see.

Fallout 3 & Falllout New Vegas : Played them both thru several times, might go back again later on - but not yet. :)
